Moved and impressed by the centre’s impact on Reuben, Aubrey and Marla pledged $5-million to close the gap between government funding and the actual cost of care. Their donation allowed the residence and its occupants to implement more programming, activities and special projects that would generate a deeper connection. A new spirit of wellness and involvement helped to galvanize the community as well as the staff, which now has the means to provide enhanced services and programming.
Renamed the Reuben Cipin Healthy Living Community, the backing of this facility is a loving tribute to Marla’s beloved father and helps to provide a full and fulfilling life for ageing residents. Promoting sustained financial stability within the organizations it supports is a core principle in AMDF’s giving. As such, part of this donation was invested in an endowment fund to finance expanded social and wellness programming for residents.
