Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto

Rexdale Community Expansion

At Big Brothers Big Sisters Toronto (BBBST), we aspire to build thriving communities by empowering lives through mentorship. We do this by enabling life-changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Toronto's Rexdale Decentralization Project is modeled after their Scarborough Decentralization Pilot Project that launched in 2019. Funding from AMDF allows BBBST to address critical needs in Rexdale by building relationships, accessing space in the community and recruiting local volunteer Bigs to deliver youth mentoring services.

“Rexdale is an under-resourced yet high needs area of Toronto. We are so grateful to the Aubrey & Marla Dan Foundation for funding BBBST’s critical work in providing youth mentoring programming in Rexdale. Their support has enabled us to allocate resources to the community, increasing our presence and impact. Thank you AMDF!"
