AMDF supports the healthcare portion of the Emergency Financial Aid program, which helps to cover expenses for things like physiotherapy, prescription drugs, counselling, dental treatment, medical equipment and devices, extended health insurance premiums and fees for addiction treatment. People dealing with financial stress are twice as likely to report poor overall health, four times as likely to suffer from sleep problems, headaches and other illnesses and more likely to experience strain on personal relationships. Given that the mental health of youth is directly related to the mental health of caregivers, AMDF supports this program as part of our youth mental health initiative.
