Dan Start-Up Fund, Women & Abuse Program

The Dan Start Up Fund has been instrumental in providing women and their children with a fresh start by financially supporting efforts to move into a safe home, purchase basic needs, pay legal fees, return to school or employment retraining and purchase supplies such as laptops to assist these efforts.

Jewish Family & Child's Woman Abuse Program looks to provide a full range of services to help women access the assistance they need to remove themselves and their children from dangerous circumstances and get the proper supports to help them move forward.

The JF&CS Woman Abuse Program provides a spectrum of services that include:

  • crisis intervention
  • assessment
  • individual and group counselling,
  • Here to Help (for children and their mothers who have been abused)
  • advocacy and community outreach
  • education and consultation
  • referrals with other professionals
